Women Who Prove That Just Because You’re A Woman Doesn’t Mean You Automatically Support Policies That Help Women

You wouldn’t trust someone to fill your cavity just because they have teeth. Well, you can’t necessarily trust a woman to support policies that benefit the vast majority of women - no matter how many times she says, “I’m a woman!”

Let's lay down the facts: reproductive freedom empowers women to control their futures and make decisions about whether, when, and with whom to have a family. We need lawmakers, be they women or men, who will keep politicians out of our personal decisions and make sure women can get the health care they need. These three women didn't get the memo.

Terri Lynn Land doesn’t get how her opponent – who’s a man – could call her out for being anti-woman… after all, she’s a woman!

Here’s why Gary Peters is putting her extreme anti-choice views front and center:
• She’s backed by the Susan B. Anthony List, an extremist anti-choice group that exists to deny women freedom over their own futures and bodies.
• Land is so out of the mainstream, she’d ban abortion except for a woman who would otherwise die.
• Land also stands with bosses who want to discriminate against women – she supports the Hobby Lobby Supreme Court decision that lets bosses deny workers the right to have their insurance cover birth control.

Joni Ernst (Running for U.S. Senate in Iowa)

Where do we start with Joni Ernst? She supported a personhood bill that would outlaw abortion, ban common forms of birth control, prevent in vitro fertilization, and put doctors in jail for providing abortion care – and then tried to deny how dangerous it is.

She’s also been endorsed by anti-choice extremists Susan B. Anthony List, and supported the Hobby Lobby decision.

Ernst also tried to take away health care from countless women by voting to defund Planned Parenthood. No pap tests or breast exams for them.

Barbara Comstock said “Roe v. Wade should be overturned" – but that no one should worry about that because it won’t come into play in Congress. (“I’m not running for the Supreme Court." Duh.) Newsflash, Barbara Comstock: anti-choice members of Congress have blocked access to abortion care and birth control for YEARS.

Her anti-choice extremism doesn’t stop there: she voted to force women seeking abortion to undergo transvaginal ultrasounds and she’s voted for personhood that bans abortion and common forms of birth control.
